Characteristics of the Perfect Travel Project

  1. A project with no deadline. Vacation should be fun and travel can be stressful enough without having to get some fixed amount of knitting done!
  2. Relatively mindless knitting, so starts and stops do not become overly cumbersome.
  3. Minimal need for additional tools beyond the most basic of basics including only 1 or 2 sets of needles.
  4. Uses yarn that is relatively easy to manage. Extra slippery yarns, for example often become more hassle than they are worth.
  5. Smaller is better. If part of your travel includes air travel, you know your working space will be limited. And besides, you want to have lots of room in the luggage for souvenirs.
