On the Fifth Day of Christmas…

…my true love gave to me five skeins of sock yarn...

Come on over to Grandma's, pick out your favorite sock yarn and get a 10% discount!

Did you know there are lots of things besides socks you can make from "sock yarn"?  It's basically a fingering or baby weight yarn, so it's perfect for light sweaters for newborn thru adult sizes. Sock yarn makes great hats for everyone, too. Many are machine wash and dry which simplifies life for everyone!

Sock yarn makes the perfect blanket for Arizona winters...not overly heavy but plenty warm.

Leftover balls of sock yarn can be used to make contrasting toes, heels and cuffs for a new pair, or striped randomly to make some wild and crazy one of a kind socks--you know non-matching socks are all the rage now!

The 50% off sale bin is still got lots of great stuff!  Come by and help us keep from having to count it all for inventory!  It's Friday and that means Happy Hour at Grandma's!  Gather around the table this afternoon with your fiber work for the last Happy Hour of 2011!  The coffee pot's always on and we have hot water, tea bags, and chai!

Help choosing colors to create enough contrast.

“I think women don’t necessarily identify crocheting or embroidery [fiber work] with the old role of the housewife and therefore it is instead seen as another accessible medium through which designers and artists can express themselves.” ~Yanina Schenkel
